Oniix

Streaming — live TV, sport and on-demand video

Live TV and sport on mobile, with no set-top box and no lock-in, paid for with mobile money.

Oniix was the first VERIION product to reach production. The platform delivers live television, sport and an on-demand catalogue to mobile — no dedicated hardware, no long subscription: users pay for what they watch, with the payment method they already use every day.

The founding constraint was not the catalogue, it was the network and the data plan. The player, the encoding pipeline and the adaptive quality strategy were built for unstable connections and metered data. A stream that holds up on a degraded network beats a stream that demands fibre.

On distribution, Oniix relies on carrier partnerships and on a multi-tenant console that lets publishers and creators run their own channels on the platform, with their own catalogue and their own revenue model.
