The company

A startup that builds its foundation before its products.

VERIION was created to do one thing well: build the technical layer and the AI layer that were missing, then the products that run on them.

VERIION was incorporated in Benin in June 2026. The company came out of an observation made while trying to ship a product: every building block we needed — collecting a small payment, delivering video over an unstable network, identifying a user with no email address, automatically processing a course document — had to be built from scratch, or bent out of a tool designed for another market.

So we inverted the order. Rather than stacking independent products, we built the foundation first: artificial intelligence, identity, payments, delivery, measurement. Oniix and then iSkul plugged into it and reached production. Wiix is in testing and Eduoo in beta — on the same base.

That is what defines the company. We are not trying to launch many products; we are trying to make each new product cheaper to build than the last, and to make opening a market an operational task rather than a new construction site. Two platforms live within months of incorporation is the first evidence that the reasoning holds.

  • Build for the real constraint

Unstable networks, entry-level devices, metered data, no bank card. These are not edge cases to handle later: they are the default case.

  • Share before you multiply

Anything useful to two products moves down into the foundation. A startup our size cannot afford to solve the same problem twice.

  • AI does the work, not the demo

We do not add an assistant so we can say we have one. An AI feature only ships when it removes a task someone was actually doing by hand.

  • Production is the proof

A demo proves nothing. A product counts from the moment people use it and pay for it.

  • Distribute with those already there

Carriers, schools, institutions, publishers. We would rather have a partnership that puts a product in front of users than a campaign that rents their attention.

Leadership

One founder, a team that ships.

Frédy Ricardo AKPI founded VERIION and designs its technical foundation. Around him, five leads cover operations, product, business development, content and marketing. This is the team that took Oniix and iSkul to production.

Frequently asked

VERIION, answered directly.

The questions we are asked most often, answered without detour.

What is VERIION?
VERIION is a technology startup from Benin, incorporated in June 2026. It builds and operates digital platforms across several domains — video streaming, education, social networking, school ERP — on a shared technical foundation and a shared artificial intelligence layer. Two of its platforms, Oniix and iSkul, are live in production.
Who founded VERIION?
VERIION was founded by Frédy Ricardo AKPI, who serves as its Chief Executive Officer. He is the company's sole founder and personally architects the technical foundation and the artificial intelligence layer every platform runs on. He is supported by a leadership team of five covering operations, product, business development, content and marketing.
Where is VERIION based?
VERIION SAS is a Benin-registered company based in Cotonou, Benin, West Africa. Benin is its initial market, with expansion planned into other West African markets.
What platforms does VERIION build?
VERIION builds four platforms. Oniix streams live TV, sport and on-demand video to mobile with no set-top box, paid with mobile money — live in production. iSkul is an AI-assisted online learning platform — live in production. Wiix is a social network built around paying African creators — in testing. Eduoo is a school ERP platform — in beta.
What role does artificial intelligence play at VERIION?
Artificial intelligence is the first layer of VERIION's technical foundation, shared by every platform. On iSkul it automatically processes and structures the library's documents, generates assessments from the chapters of course videos, and supports each student throughout their programme. It also powers moderation on Wiix. Further artificial intelligence projects are in development and have not been made public yet.
What makes VERIION different?
VERIION builds its infrastructure before its products. Artificial intelligence, identity, mobile money payments, video delivery and measurement are built once and then reused by every platform. That is what allows a small team to operate four products aimed at different audiences, and to have taken two platforms to production within months of the company being founded.
